Authenticated database disclosure via crafted user ID
Published Jun 2, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Car Rental Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read and alter database data through the admin user page. The manage_user.php endpoint incorporates the id query parameter into a database query without neutralizing SQL syntax, so a crafted UNION SELECT changes the query and returns attacker-selected data. An administrator session is required; the demonstrated query discloses the database name, while database permissions bound further reading or modification.
