Browser compromise via Internals heap overflow
Published Sep 26, 2022 · Updated May 21, 2025
Heap buffer overflow in Google Chrome before 105.0.5195.125 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory through a crafted HTML page. The Internals component writes beyond a heap buffer boundary while processing attacker-controlled page content; further code-level details remain restricted. The attack requires a user to open the page, after which the corruption can crash the browser or redirect its execution.
