Heap corruption via stale frame dereference
Published Sep 26, 2022 · Updated May 21, 2025
Use after free in Google Chrome Frames before 105.0.5195.125 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory via a crafted HTML page. Public proof-of-concept material places the stale-object dereference in blink::LocalFrameView::PerformLayout; the original patch details remain restricted. A user must load attacker-controlled HTML, and the documented consequence is renderer heap corruption rather than a demonstrated sandbox escape.
