Script execution via unescaped audit filters
Published Apr 5, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Reflected XSS in the osTicket Audit Log plugin allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser via a crafted URL. The auditlogs.tmpl.php template inserts the type and state URL parameters into an anchor href without HTML escaping, so a value can close the attribute and inject a script tag. Exploitation requires the Audit plugin and an authenticated staff member to open the crafted URL, exposing that user's session-context data and actions.
