Unauthenticated command execution via SystemCmd injection
Published Jun 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Command injection in ASUS RT-N53 firmware 3.0.0.4.376.3754 allows remote attackers to execute operating-system commands via HTTP. The apply.cgi interface passes the untrusted SystemCmd parameter to a system-command execution path without neutralizing command syntax. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful injection allows command execution on the router.
