Authenticated code execution via unrestricted logo upload
Published Jul 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Codoforum 5.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through the admin panel. The global settings logo handler accepts a forum_logo multipart part named with a .php extension and saves it under the web-accessible attachments path, where the PHP server executes it. Administrator access is required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied commands with the web server process's privileges.
