CVE-2022-31776Network attack vector

Unauthorized requests via default gateway-peering password

Published Jul 31, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

SSRF in affected IBM DataPower Gateway releases allows remote authenticated users to send unauthorized requests from the system. IBM identifies gateway-peering instances that retain the system default password as the flaw: the UI fails to warn when no password alias is set. Reachability requires authenticated access, and successful use can enumerate reachable networks or facilitate further attacks; IBM does not disclose how the default credential produces the stated SSRF.
