Client crash via WebGL row bounds miscalculation
Published Dec 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
WebGL heap overflow in Mozilla Firefox before 101, Firefox ESR before 91.10, and Thunderbird before 91.10 allows remote attackers to crash the client. In GLContext::raw_fReadPixels, clipping a negative y coordinate resets the destination to row zero without reducing the pixel-row count, so glReadPixels writes past the heap buffer. A victim must load attacker-controlled WebGL content; Thunderbird mail reading disables scripting, limiting exposure there to browser or browser-like contexts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
