CVE-2022-31707Network attack vector

Root code execution via crafted administrator command

Published Dec 16, 2022 · Updated Apr 18, 2025

Privilege escalation in VMware vRealize Operations 8.6.x and 8.10 allows remote authenticated users to gain root access. The CaSA configuration accepts a crafted administrator command that triggers execution of a privileged operation on the appliance. Administrative privileges in the application are required, and successful exploitation executes arbitrary code as root on the underlying operating system.
