Unauthenticated code execution via path traversal
Published Dec 14, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Path traversal in VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.10.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject files and execute code. The current CNA record does not identify the affected endpoint or the unsafe file operation beyond path traversal. VMware's cited advisory assigns this Log Insight behavior to CVE-2022-31706 and assigns CVE-2022-31703 to Network Insight, so Log Insight applicability is disputed.
