Plaintext credential storage in VMware vCenter Server allows local users to read passwords used during Appliance ISO operations. The install, upgrade, migration, and restore workflows record supplied credentials in plaintext logs accessible from the invoking workstation. The attacker must access that workstation; disclosure is confined to passwords supplied for the operation.
