Unauthenticated administrative access via URL rewrite filter
Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Authentication bypass in VMware Workspace ONE Access, Identity Manager, and vRealize Automation allows remote attackers to gain administrative access. UrlRewriteFilter maps a crafted callback request to RequestDispatcher.forward, routing it around HostHeaderFilter and into LocalPasswordAuthAdapter.login. Network access to the UI is sufficient; the flaw affects local-domain authentication and grants administrative control.
