Stored cross-site scripting in VMware vRealize Log Insight before 8.8.2 allows remote authenticated users to run script through alerts. The alert-handling path fails to sanitize administrator-supplied content before storing it, allowing injected code to run when the content is viewed. Exploitation requires administrator privileges and user interaction; the script executes within the viewing user's browser session.
