CVE-2022-31604Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via pickled CA credentials

Published Jul 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Unsafe deserialization in NVIDIA FLARE before 2.1.2 allows remote attackers to execute code through crafted CA credentials sent over the network. The PKI implementation transports CA credentials as Python pickle data and deserializes them without safe validation, allowing a crafted pickle to invoke attacker-controlled behavior. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation can execute code, expose or alter data, or crash the service.
