Privileged code execution via IpSecDxe index validation
Published Jul 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in NVIDIA DGX A100 before 22.5.5 allows local users with high privileges to execute code via SBIOS IpSecDxe. IpSecDxe validates an array index incorrectly when its global data has been preconditioned, enabling the attacker to reach unintended memory operations. High privileges and prepared IpSecDxe state are required; resulting execution can interrupt service, alter data integrity, or disclose information.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
