Unauthenticated file disclosure via unsafe send_file path
Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Absolute path traversal in shaolo1 VideoServer through 2019-09-21 allows remote attackers to read server files via crafted paths. The application passes an attacker-supplied absolute path to Flask send_file, which treats file paths as trusted instead of confining access to an intended directory. No authentication or user interaction is required; exposure is limited to files readable by the server process, and no file modification is reported.
