Arbitrary file read via unsafe path joining
Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Absolute path traversal in woduq1414 munhak-moa before 2022-05-03 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files via the images route. The route passes its attacker-controlled path parameter through os.path.join to Flask send_file, so an absolute path discards the intended application directory. No authentication or user interaction is required, and exposed files can include application source, configuration, credentials, and operating-system data.
