Unauthenticated file disclosure via unsafe send_file
Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Absolute path traversal in the Flask file handler in echoleegroup PythonWeb through 2018-10-31 allows remote attackers to read server files. The application passes an attacker-controlled absolute path to Flask's send_file function without confining access to an intended directory. No authentication or user interaction is required; exposed deployments can return files readable by the web-service process.
