Arbitrary file read via unsafe send_file path
Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Absolute path traversal in ThundeRatz ThunderDocs through 2020-05-01 allows remote attackers to read server files via crafted paths. The application passes an attacker-controlled absolute path to Flask's send_file function without restricting resolution to the document root. No authentication or user interaction is required; exposure is limited to files readable by the server process, with no demonstrated file modification.
