Arbitrary file read via unsafe download paths
Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Absolute path traversal in ChangeWeDer BaiduWenkuSpider_flaskWeb before 2021-11-29 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files. The /path:url/path:filename download route passes attacker-controlled path components through os.path.join into Flask send_from_directory without safe_join containment. An unauthenticated HTTP request can escape the intended download directory and disclose files readable by the server process.
