Unauthenticated file disclosure via absolute path override
Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Absolute path traversal in ChaoticOnyx OnyxForum before 2022-05-04 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files. The hub download view passes its attacker-controlled path through os.path.join to Flask send_file; an absolute path discards the configured logs directory. No authentication or user interaction is required, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the server process.
