Remote command execution via unsanitized ReaderNo
Published Aug 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in Nortek Linear eMerge E3-Series devices before 0.32-08f allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. The card_scan.php endpoint fails to sanitize the ReaderNo parameter before using it in an operating-system command, allowing shell metacharacters to alter execution. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants control of the access-control appliance.
