CVE-2022-31486Network attack vector

Authenticated command injection via crafted route

Published Jun 6, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

OS command injection in HID Mercury access controllers before LP 1.303 and EP 1.297 allows remote authenticated users to execute shell commands. The edit_route.cgi binary passes a crafted route from the Advanced Networking route-add function to a shell without neutralizing command syntax. Authenticated web access is required; successful exploitation permits communication monitoring, relay or configuration changes, and controller instability.
