CVE-2022-31485Network attack vector

Unauthenticated note modification via forced browsing

Published Jun 6, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Forced browsing in HID Mercury controllers before 1.29 allows remote attackers to modify homepage notes through the web interface. The web interface exposes its homepage notes update action to crafted network packets without first enforcing authentication. The web server must be enabled and network-reachable; exploitation changes displayed controller data but does not establish code execution or relay control.
