CVE-2022-31465

Local privilege escalation via writable service executable

Published Jun 14, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025

Incorrect permission assignment in Siemens Xpedition Designer affected VX.2.10–VX.2.13 builds allows local users to escalate privileges. The application grants unprivileged accounts write access to its service executable, allowing arbitrary code injection when that service runs. Exploitation requires an authenticated local account and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability through elevated execution.
