Remote command execution via unsanitized mac parameter
Published Jun 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in Tenda AC18 firmware 15.03.05.05 and 15.03.05.19 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. The /bin/httpd handler for /goform/WriteFacMac passes the mac POST value directly to doSystem, allowing a semicolon to terminate the intended command and append attacker-controlled shell input. A remote POST request requires no user interaction and grants command execution in the router's operating environment.
