CVE-2022-3140Network attack vector

Script execution via unblocked macro command URI

Published Oct 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper input validation in The Document Foundation LibreOffice 7.3 before 7.3.6 and 7.4 before 7.4.1 allows attackers to execute scripts. The vnd.libreoffice.command URI handler accepts crafted links that name internal macros and forwards arbitrary arguments without blocking the command URI. Execution requires a clicked link or a document event, after which the script runs without a warning in the user's LibreOffice context.
