Authenticated script execution via crafted email-name field
Published Jun 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in HelpDeskZ 2.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a staff user's browser through a crafted email-name field. The /staff/tools/custom-fields interface stores the crafted value and later renders it as active HTML or script instead of neutralizing it. A high-privilege authenticated user must submit the value and a staff user must view it; execution is limited to that viewer's browser context.
