Unauthorized file access via path traversal
Published Jun 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Algo Communication Products Ltd. 8373 IP Zone Paging Adapter Firmware 1.7.6 allows attackers to read files via a web request. The /fm-data.lua handler accepts traversal sequences in a requested path and resolves files outside the intended directory. Remote access to the adapter's web interface is required, and the consequence is unauthorized file disclosure rather than a demonstrated ability to alter firmware or interrupt paging.
