Remote code execution via provisioning length mismatch
Published Feb 1, 2023 · Updated Mar 27, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in Cypress Bluetooth Mesh SDK BSA0107_05.01.00-BX8-AMESH-08 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. During mesh provisioning, pb_transport_handle_frag_ accepts inconsistent SegN and TotalLength values in a Transaction Start PDU and writes beyond its destination buffer. Attackers must reach the target over Bluetooth mesh provisioning; successful memory corruption permits code execution on the affected device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
