Stored script execution via unsanitized settings
Published Oct 10, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Social Rocket – Social Sharing Plugin before 1.3.3 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through plugin settings. The plugin accepts button CTA and icon-class values without sufficient sanitization, stores them, and renders them into pages without output escaping. Administrator-level access is required, and the injected script executes when another user opens an affected page even where unfiltered_html is disabled.
