Remote denial of service via double free
Published Jun 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Double-free vulnerability in dlt-daemon 2.18.8 allows remote attackers to interrupt the service via crafted TCP packets. The dlt_config_file_parser.c parser mishandles packet-controlled memory and releases the same allocation twice, corrupting heap state. No privileges or user interaction are required; a reachable DLT TCP listener can be crashed, causing a service outage without evidence of data disclosure or modification.
