Uncontrolled allocation in Bento4 1.2 allows context-dependent attackers to abort mp42hls by supplying a crafted MP4 file. AP4_TrunAtom reads a crafted sample count and passes it to AP4_Array::SetItemCount, whose EnsureCapacity requests multi-gigabyte memory without a limit. A user or upstream workflow must cause mp42hls to parse the file; the demonstrated result is process termination from memory exhaustion.
