Authenticated file disclosure via snippet path traversal
Published Nov 10, 2022 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Path traversal in SUSE Manager Server 4.2 and 4.3 allows remote authenticated users to read files through a crafted snippet path. CobblerSnippetViewAction accepts the path request parameter for an autoinstallation snippet and resolves traversal segments outside /var/lib/cobbler/snippets without confining the resulting file. A valid SUSE Manager session is required, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the Tomcat account or its www, susemanager, and tomcat groups.
