Root privilege escalation via permissive sudo rules
Published Apr 25, 2023 · Updated Feb 3, 2025
Incorrect permissions in Nokia OneNDS 17r2 allow local users with designated administrative roles to gain root privileges. The sudo configuration lets those roles invoke service with a traversed path, evaluate Lua through rpm, or make ip and arp read arbitrary files as root. Possession of one of the affected local roles is required, after which arbitrary commands or protected files become accessible with root authority.
