CVE-2022-31215Network attack vector

Firewall-rule bypass via update-time firewall disablement

Published May 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Protection-mechanism failure in Goverlan Reach allows remote attackers to bypass Windows Firewall blocking rules during agent updates. During an agent update, the update workflow disables Windows Firewall rather than preserving configured blocking rules, leaving them unenforced for up to 30 seconds. The update window affects Reach Console before 10.5.1, Reach Server before 3.70.1, and Reach Client Agents before 10.1.11; traffic normally denied by host rules can reach services during that interval.
