Code execution via unauthenticated downloaded logic
Published Jul 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Insufficient data-authenticity verification in Omron SYSMAC CS/CJ/CP Series PLCs allows remote attackers to execute object code. FINS engineering downloads accept compiled user-program object code without cryptographic authentication before routing it to an ASIC or ROM interpreter. The attack requires the ability to alter FINS engineering traffic sent to an unprotected controller and can also halt the PLC.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
