CVE-2022-31197Public exploitNetwork attack vector

SQL injection via unescaped refreshRow column identifiers

Published Aug 3, 2022 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

SQL injection in PostgreSQL JDBC Driver before 42.2.26 and 42.3.0 through 42.4.0 allows attackers to execute SQL as the JDBC user. PgResultSet.refreshRow() copies key and data column names into generated SQL without identifier escaping, so a statement terminator creates extra commands. Exploitation requires a maliciously controlled database schema and an application that queries the crafted table and calls ResultSet.refreshRow(); injected SQL runs with the application's JDBC privileges.
