CVE-2022-31153Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Transaction denial via misbound ECDSA pointer

Published Jul 15, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

Availability failure in OpenZeppelin Contracts for Cairo 0.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to halt Goerli account transactions. The Account library's execute path allocates ecdsa_ptr as ordinary memory instead of receiving the SignatureBuiltin pointer, so StarkNet rejects signature hints. Only vanilla and Ethereum-flavor 0.2.0 accounts on Goerli are exposed; mainnet whitelisting and the test framework prevent the same observable failure.
