CVE-2022-31137Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated command execution via unvalidated ipbackend input

Published Jul 8, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

OS command injection in Roxy-WI before 6.1.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute commands through an unauthenticated HTTP request. The app/options.py CGI handler inserts the ipbackend form value into a shell command passed to subprocess_execute without neutralizing shell metacharacters. No credentials or user interaction are required, and commands run with the privileges of the web server account.
