CVE-2022-31131Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cross-account draft attachment disruption via unchecked identifier

Published Jul 6, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

Authorization bypass in Nextcloud Mail before 1.12.2 allows remote authenticated users to alter or delete other users' draft attachments. Attachment update and delete operations accept an attachment identifier without confirming that the stored attachment belongs to the requesting account, permitting local_message_id reassignment or record deletion. Any Mail user can make another sender's draft attachment unavailable, but the vendor states that the file cannot be read or sent to a different user.
