CVE-2022-31102Network attack vector

SSO user impersonation via unchecked callback redirect

Published Jul 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Cross-site scripting in Argo Project Argo CD 2.3.0 through 2.3.5 and 2.4.0 through 2.4.4 allows attackers to impersonate SSO users. The /auth/callback handler embeds a decrypted cookie return URL in JavaScript and assigns it to window.location.href without rejecting the javascript scheme. Exploitation requires SSO, the API server encryption key, cookie placement in the victim's browser, and interaction with a malicious callback link.
