Credential disclosure via connection-error logging
Published Jun 27, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Information disclosure in Weave GitOps before 0.8.1-rc.6 allows remote authenticated users to read cluster credentials via pod logs. The client factory dumps registered-cluster configurations and service-account tokens when a cluster API connection fails, exposing them to anyone with pod-log or configured external-log access. Access to those logs lets an attacker obtain credentials usable to manage registered Kubernetes clusters; triggering the error requires a connection attempt and the relevant log access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
