CVE-2022-31079Network attack vector

Service interruption via unbounded stream message reads

Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Resource exhaustion in KubeEdge before 1.9.4, 1.10.0 through 1.10.1, and 1.11.0 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt services. The Cloud Stream and Edge Stream servers read each received stream message fully into memory without enforcing a size limit. Exploitation requires authentication and both cloudStream and edgeStream to be enabled, and memory exhaustion interrupts CloudCore and EdgeCore.
