Authenticated CloudHub crash via unbounded request body
Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Resource exhaustion in KubeEdge before 1.9.4, 1.10.0 through 1.10.1, and 1.11.0 allows remote authenticated users to crash CloudHub. The CloudHub /edge.crt path reads the entire HTTP request body into memory without a size limit, so a body exceeding available memory terminates the service. Exploitation requires authorization and an enabled CloudHub module; the bounded consequence is interruption of the CloudHub HTTP service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 1.10.0, < 1.10.2
- Affected versionversion== 1.11.0
