CVE-2022-31073

Node-wide denial of service via unbounded body read

Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

Uncontrolled resource consumption in KubeEdge ServiceBus before 1.9.4, 1.10.0 through 1.10.1, and 1.11.0 allows local users to exhaust node memory. The ServiceBus basic HTTP handler passes the request body to io.ReadAll without a size limit, allowing allocation to grow with attacker-controlled input. Reachability requires an application on the edge host that can send HTTP requests to localhost and an explicitly enabled ServiceBus module; exhaustion prevents other containers and services from allocating memory.
