CVE-2022-31034Network attack vector

Administrator access via predictable SSO parameters

Published Jun 27, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Insufficient entropy in Argo CD OAuth2/OIDC parameters allows remote attackers to subvert SSO login flows and obtain account access. CLI oauth2Login and API-server generateAppState and ImplicitFlowURL use time-seeded math/rand and emit short state, verifier, or nonce values. Exploitation requires a CLI- or UI-initiated SSO exchange and a complex attack on that exchange; the resulting privileges reach administrator access in the worst case.
