Remote Office redirection via default domain trust
Published Jun 2, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Improper access control in Nextcloud richdocuments before 4.2.6 and 5.0.0 through 5.0.3 allows remote attackers to redirect Office editing. Federated editing trusted remote Office endpoints through the server's trusted-domain list by default, allowing a federated share to frame a sender-selected Office server. Exploitation requires a user to open the federated share; the resulting document-editing session then operates against the remote Office server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
