CVE-2022-31016Network attack vector

Repo-server crash via unbounded manifest reads

Published Jun 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Uncontrolled memory consumption in Argo CD 0.7.0 and later allows remote authenticated users to crash the repo-server service. The findManifests function reads each directory-type YAML, YML, or JSON manifest entirely into memory without enforcing a combined size limit. Exploitation requires application deployment rights and control of a referenced repository; the crash blocks core operations such as application synchronization.
