Unauthorized process execution via named-pipe requests
Published May 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in Jenkins WMI Windows Agents Plugin 1.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to start processes. The bundled Windows Remote Command library accepts requests on its named pipe and starts processes as the connecting user without checking logon authorization. Access to that named pipe is required; successful use runs attacker-chosen processes on the Windows agent under the connecting account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
